Mahon is a hard Spanish cheese named after the town of Mahon situated on the island of Menorca, the sole place where it is produced - the fact that is ensured by the Denominacion de Origen that the cheese had recieved in 1985. Mahon is buttery, salty and a tiny bit aromatic. Its rind is orange in color, due to rubbing it with butter - or oil - and paprika.
